AHMEDABAD / EKTA NAGAR — Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Gujarat on Friday for a comprehensive two-day official tour focused on commissioning infrastructure, green energy transmission links, and tourism connectivity initiatives valued at more than ₹14,000 crore across northern and central districts.
A flagship component of the capital outlay includes the formal commissioning of phase-one high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission lines connecting the colossal 30-gigawatt hybrid renewable energy park in Khavda, Kutch, to the national power grid. The transmission network, engineered by the Power Grid Corporation of India, is designed to evacuate massive clean-energy volumes to high-demand industrial belts across western and northern India, underpinning the country’s statutory target of reaching 500 gigawatts of non-fossil generation capacity by 2030.
In the tribal-majority belt of Narmada district, the Prime Minister reviewed expanded multimodal infrastructure surrounding Ekta Nagar and the Statue of Unity. New hospitality developments, solar-powered mobility corridors, and an upgraded healthcare hub designed to service over forty regional gram panchayats were dedicated to the nation as part of the annual National Unity Day celebrations.
Addressing administrative gatherings in Navsari and Gandhinagar, state leadership underlined the economic multiplier of regional rail expansions and urban drainage modernisations intended to mitigate chronic monsoon inundation in fast-growing industrial zones. State officials confirmed that foundational paperwork for additional textile and semiconductor testing clusters in the Dholera Special Investment Region will be finalised before the conclusion of the tour.
