EKTA NAGAR (KEVADIA) / NEW DELHI — Commemorating the 151st birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning led national tributes at the foot of the 182-metre Statue of Unity in Gujarat, presiding over an expansive ceremonial parade featuring contingents from all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and state police units.
In a key address to senior administrative officials, defence commanders, and thousands of attendees assembled along the Narmada riverbanks, the Prime Minister underscored the enduring relevance of Sardar Patel’s constitutional and territorial integration philosophy in navigating modern geopolitical friction. Emphasising a zero-tolerance posture against cross-border infiltration, maritime sovereignty violations, and hybrid security threats, the Prime Minister highlighted the unprecedented pace of frontier infrastructure commissioning—spanning all-weather tunnels, border motorways, and forward airfield upgrades across Ladakh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Rann of Kutch.
The ceremonial review featured high-precision aerial drills by the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran aerobatic team alongside tactical demonstrations by the National Security Guard (NSG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Mahila quick-reaction units. Senior security analysts noted that the joint parade served not merely as a symbolic commemorative exercise, but as an operational showcase of inter-agency interoperability between border-guarding organisations and provincial law enforcement commands.
Following the parade, the Prime Minister inaugurated several citizen-centric infrastructure projects totaling ₹280 crore across Ekta Nagar, including sustainable electric mobility corridors, upgraded tribal healthcare sub-centres, and smart irrigation works catering to peripheral villages in the Narmada basin. As nationwide pledge-taking ceremonies unfolded across schools, universities, and administrative secretariats, union ministries reiterated their ongoing commitment to federal decentralisation and unified national logistics under the PM GatiShakti framework.
